Chroma magazine / RED issue

My editorial for Chroma Magazine is out! I shot this for their first issue, which centers around the colour red - it was a bit of a challenge for me as I actually haven’t worked with red in my images in a really long time but I had so much fun with it.

Along with the photos I did a really long/more in depth than usual interview, you can read it over here

CBC arts interview

Along with releasing part 2 of the non-binary portrait series this week, CBC arts also released a video interview with me talking about the project :)

You can view it here :

I also just want to say that I am really grateful for the attention this project has received BUT I do NOT think representation/visibility is the end all/be all!!! There are so many more important things to focus on that affect trans lives on the daily, and not everyone can afford to be made visible so just wanted to put that out there / second sidetone I want to thank everyone who has participated so far for your energy and vulnerability This project was first and foremost a very personal thing for me, it’s about collaboration and shifting my photographic practice to what matters to me and listening to the people I’m photographing.

Non-Binary Portrait Series part 2

Hi!! I’ve been in complete hibernation all winter but I am back! With some photos I’ve been holding on to for a long time! But without further ado…here is part 2 of my non-binary portrait series :)

you can view the whole series here :

& all of these will be on display in may in Berlin in my first solo exhibition in collaboration with curated by girls, more on that soon!

from the first part of the series :

My aim with this series is to showcase a diversity of trans & non-binary experiences that tend to be under-represented in mainstream media & give non-binary subjects agency regarding how they are represented. It’s also an opportunity for me to document my friends & their unique style & point of view. As someone who identifies as non-binary it’s obviously a very personal topic for me but I wanted the photos to go beyond my own identity and really be a collaboration between me & the models.

What does our future hold?

Hi! I’ve been a bit awol due to the holidays + travelling around! I’m in London right now preparing the final details for a show I’ve co-curated with my pal Liv Thurley from The Coven,  Polyester zine, and Isabella Podpadec where we got over 50 international artists to each create a card for a new tarot deck we are putting together.

Will be back with new photos soon but for now here’s some press/interviews about the show/project!

Unrelated but I also have an interview with Spindle magazine up this week, you can check that out here

& before I headed to London I made one last artist interview for 2016 with my dear friend Simon Fortin aka emotwink, you can check that out on the adolescent website here!
