LA Diary // part 2

Some pictures from my very first & last day in LA this summer; I happened to hang out with (& take pictures of) Sara on both days. On my first day I went over to her house to help out on the set of Red Lighter Films’ ‘‘All Encompassing and Everywhere” (it’s on youtube now, click here to check it out!!). On my last day, I wound up in Sara’s car looking for a free activity to do around the city and she took me to the Hammer museum, where I got really obsessed with this pink curtain behind a glass wall (the reflection, the texture!) & talked about being multiple things at once // our many sides as artists (and on this note, you should go check out her photos & her music)

Two of a kind

Earlier this fall I got the chance to collaborate with IGNANT for their “two of a kind” series where they send the same 3 objects to two different artists and see how each interprets them. In this case they sent me a paint roller, bubble gum and cotton pads - and of course I drenched them all in pink goop. You can view the full editorial as well as the other artist’s interpretation up on their website (here)

LA diary // part 1

I fell in love with LA this summer and then subsequently spent the following months feeling quite heartbroken. I let the pictures I took there sit for a while, trying to figure out what I should do with them. Well, it’s been 4 months now and I figure it’s time to start putting them out there - these pictures below are actually from my very last day in LA, when I got to spend a little bit of time with my dear friend Tara. I’ve known Tara for years, feels like we grew up together, and she’s one of my favorite people to photograph. We spent some time in her garden which felt surreal, a place I’ve seen in pictures so many times. I also got very quickly obsessed her childhood bathroom, all green, which was a new color for me.
